Sorcrates

Terms of use

Last updated 19 August 2026. Early access.

What the service is

Sorcrates searches sources you have connected and public search engine results, and presents ranked candidate suggestions. It is a research tool. Every suggestion, score, ranking and written assessment is a starting point for your judgement, not a hiring decision.

You make the hiring decisions

Rankings are produced by automated analysis of short public text and are frequently incomplete or wrong about individuals. You are responsible for how you evaluate, contact and select candidates, and for complying with the employment, equal opportunity and data protection law that applies to you.

Your account

Keep your access token and connected integration keys confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Do not share a seat between people.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to build or resell a candidate database, to contact people who have asked not to be contacted, or in a way that breaches the terms of a system you have connected. Do not attempt to circumvent usage limits or extract other customers' data.

Availability

This is early-access software with no uptime commitment. Overnight runs may be delayed or fail, and features may change or be withdrawn. We will not silently discard your data: deletion is always something you asked for.

Fees

Paid plans, where offered, are billed in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law. Usage limits are described in the product and may change with notice.

Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for hiring outcomes, missed candidates, or decisions made using the output.

Ending it

You can stop at any time by deleting your requisitions and account, which deletes the associated candidate data. We may suspend an account that breaches these terms.

TODO before launch: reviewed by a lawyer, governing-law clause added, and a real contact address. This is a good-faith draft, not legal advice.
